Currently or evaluation process works some of the time...part of the issue is that we are human and see the best in people even when they are not doing the best for our students.

A system that is quietly working well in my school are the discipline referrals, or lack there of. In years past I whave had a staff that writes up a child for any small infraction, or sent them to the office for those infractions instead of handling it in the classroom. For whatever reason the number of writeups in down this year and when I do get a wright up the teacher is including all of the steps they have done prior to the write up or in addition to the write up.

Anthony Egan

Assistant Principal

Our district deeply cares about supporting students' basic needs. We provide multiple supports for parents and students economic needs. We excel at creating programs that ensure parents and students struggling making proverbial ends meet have their needs met.

William Ross

Supervisor of CTE Programs Work-Based Learning

A system that is working well is having a leader in different parts of the school. We have our pre-kindergarten-2nd and 3rd-8th grade under a different director. Having this leadership model has allowed freedom for our principal to focus on different parts of the school rather than answer questions or help with children that may need some refocusing. We are able to take care of the small problems that take up most of the day while she deals with the harder or tougher issues that arise.

Katy Rohr

Director of Early Childhood

We have implemented Supervisory roles in the last 4 years and it has helped to assist teacher with classroom support immensely.

Angie Rasmussen

School Director

What is working well is the autonomy given to my 3 lead teachers. They are always focused on what’s best for kids and that is clearly evident in how they are always trying to improve upon the systems that do work to the greater benefit of their students. They also share their experience and expertise with their grade-level partners to help them get the desired results for their class and the teams’ grade levels.

Tanya Newell

Principal

Our school-wide PBIS is working well in our building. We consistently recognize and celebrate students demonstrate our school-wide expectations.

Something that is working well in my school is the approach we have towards the socio-emotional care for our students. We have built a team that is well-rounded and supportive of each other as well as the students.

Ximena Rodriguez

Assistant Principal

I would say for the Bound Brook School District, the mentor program is working really well right now. We try our best to pair the mentors with experienced veteran teachers who do a fantastic job. And I don't think that our new teachers feel like they're not supported in the way of the teachers. A lot of teachers have come to me and said, thank you so much for pairing me with this person. They're really great. They have a lot of great ideas. So our mentor program definitely works well. And unfortunately, if new teachers leave, it's not because of the mentor, it's because of other circumstances.

Assistant Principal
