I would say my favorite and my go to is the coaching role. My least favorite is the boss role, the director, and then the one that I need to work on the most is perhaps the leader role.

Khalid Oluewu

Principal/Lead Learner

The best teachers need someone to bounce ideas around with. We have tough students. One way doesn't work with our students. Our best teachers like to have someone to talk about ways to differentiate instruction or how to handle different situations. Also, supporting teachers with behavior issues is a big piece to allowing teachers to teach.

Deanna Albert

Assistant Principal

I am the most comfortable in the reflective role. I am the least comfortable in the directive role. I need to grow more in the directive and reflective roles.

Estelle Benson

Principal

I would say I identify with the educator role right now because of the vast amount of things that I'm doing, it's more in that vein of the general educator. And the role that I would like the least is possibly the role that I want to grow more in is the coach role. And that's why I'm taking this program.

Dana Goodier

Educational Consultant

As a supervisor, I am most comfortable in the coaching role. I love to help teachers become the best version of themselves then can be!

Jeff Salmeri

ELA Supervisor

My favorite role is the Coach. I like guiding teachers through a reflective exercise and they can come to their own conclusions. I like listening to teachers talk about themselves and their practice. My least favorite role is the Boss. I do not like confrontation, however, I understand how that role is necessary during certain situations. I so not have much experience being a Reflexive Leader. Those final decisions are not normally made by me but I do add my opinions where appropriate.

Nadia Luenig

Assistant Principal

I prefer the leader or coach role. I love having conversations about what is happening in the classroom. My least favorite role is the directive role probably because it is the area where I need to grow more.

Angie Rasmussen

School Director

My favorite role is the coach. I enjoy helping teachers and staff improve their practices. I think for me, it's just something that I really, truly enjoy. Just being in a classroom and seeing what's happening first hand.

Dr. Hipolita Hernandez-Sicignano

Principal

My favourite role is the teacher role and for the most part that is what I am doing. I usually have teachers straight out of uni. It is typical for teachers to stay for 3-5 years with us then move on to the public school system or to move closer to their families so we always have a batch of brand new teachers. As they gain experience my role changes to a coach role. My least favourite is the boss role.

Lee Barrios

Principal

I am most comfortable as an educational leader, coach, and the least favorite and the most room from growth is the director giving directive. I doubt philosophically the power of directives to change people, but they are necessary evils to make sure standards are met.

William Ross

Supervisor of CTE Programs Work-Based Learning

I feel as though I fall into the Leader category, however, I do know that I don't always have the solution or the Right solution. I take that into account and do my best to not address my role as an individual but as a collaboration amongst other "leaders" and those who I should lead.

Geanna Trelease

Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction for Special Education

My favorite role is that of the coach. I enjoy helping people and the coach role is where I can make the most impact on helping teachers improve their practice. My least favorite is being the boss. I don't enjoy having to discipline people or having to have very serious meetings dictating the certain things need to be done. This is an area that I need to grow in.

Jill Talewsky

Supervisor of Mathematics

Our school district is focusing on instructional practice with a particular focus on data and meeting the needs of individual students. An educator role is needed in order to help teachers understand and interpret data. Due to this level of importance, it is also the area where if feel I need to continue to develop and grow. My least favorite role is that of a boss. I interpret that to be the enforcer of rules and policies, which becomes tedious over time.

Joe Santicerma

Principal

My favorite role is Leader or Coach. It is where I am most comfortable. I love sharing ideas and working alongside my colleagues. My least favorite is Boss. I do not like giving directives or being the "bad guy". I am often perceived as the Boss in my role but once people get to know me as a leader, that perspective shifts.

Beth Fischer

Assistant Superintendent

My favorite and preferred role is the coach role. I enjoy working with new teachers and helping them improve their practice. I enjoy being able to have conversations that helps them reflect on their practice and giving them resources to improve. I would like to grow more in the educator role, be expanding my knowledge a bit more for all the PS - 8 grades curriculum.

Eloisa Acevedo

Principal

I believe that I am happiest in the Coach role. I like working with teachers and helping them reach their own epiphanies or develop their own systems to solve the problems in their classroom. My least favorite role is the Boss role. I feel like you erode the relationship with a teacher when you have to take a Boss role and with some teachers, that is hard to come back from. I would like to gain some growth in the Leader role. I think more experience will grant me more confidence in looking for systemic solutions for my teachers.

Ximena Rodriguez

Assistant Principal

My most favorite role would have to be the leader / coach role.My least favorite role is simple for me to answer and that is the boss. I also have to grow most in my ability to be the boss, being the boss is a necessary thing, but it is still the part of the job I have the most trouble with, I hate to be the bad guy with colleagues, especially since some of the teachers I currently supervise have know me in other positions in district before becoming an admin.

Assistant Principal
