I wonder if my plot chart would be different if I did this during the school year and not during the summer. I am going to make sure I have more evidence for those falling in the low evidence category this year.
Angie Rasmussen
School Director
I love the idea of visualizing the data. This is helpful because it helps to organize the data so that it becomes clear when more data is needed for teacher evaluation. Great stuff!
Jeff Salmeri
ELA Supervisor
I found that the more that you are in a classroom the higher the teacher performance is.
Marc DeMarco
Director of Special Services
This is a great tool! It helps me to see what evidence I have collected and where further evidence or data is needed.
Beth Fischer
Assistant Superintendent
I have lots of evidence and the performance is average. It gave me a concrete view of the data and a place to start once we return in the fall.
Lee Barrios
Principal
This is a great tool. I have not thought about doing this before. The graph shows that I don't have much evidence yet on teacher practice at all levels. It will be interesting to see how this changes even with one more walk through.
Deanna Albert
Assistant Principal
So the chart I made was a little bit more symbolic than actual chart, because I have a lot of staff members here at Smelling. But as you can see, I kind of gave my teachers a range of performance from high to low. However, I kind of kept it on this side of the evidence plane, because I really think that we need to gather more evidence. Like, we think we have a lot of evidence, but with the initiative of going through and walking through and having evidence based walkthroughs, we're going to have more evidence. So I more charted everybody over here because I would like to eventually get them over here and having that lot of evidence by going into the classrooms as often as I possibly can and having those walk through ops.
Nadia Luenig
Assistant Principal
This exercise supports the notion that regardless of where a teacher lands on the performance spectrum, there is relatively little and/or low levels of data/evidence that is collected
Joe Santicerma
Principal
This tool shows that I have to collect more evidence for any of the teachers in any performance area. Some teachers I rated as high have low evidence. I am looking forward to completing this plot again at the end of the year when I have more evidence and comparing it to this one.
Eloisa Acevedo
Principal
I think that the plot I created kind of shows that I probably need to start collecting a little more evidence in order for some of these performance plots to start to increase and have a higher rate. We have a lot of brand new staff within the past one to three years, so I just don't think I have enough evidence on many of them to move them to this higher performance. But if I focus on that when I go into the classrooms and gathering this evidence and really being mindful of who I'm visiting and what I'm looking for, I think I should be able to change some of it.
Robyn Griffin
Elementary Supervisor
Most people, I have a lot of evidence and the performance is average to high performance. I have three people in particular that I'm thinking of that have low performance. But also I have low evidence on and to low performance, but I really do have averaged to a lot of evidence on.
